I was supposed to write this “report” yesterday, but you know how it is. Life always finds a way to get in your way, as they say.
Not much happened last week. I haven’t really progressed in any of my “areas of expertise”. However, two noteworthy things happened:
Last week I briefly mentioned that I lack attention to detail and wondered if there was anything that could be done about it. After some thought, I decided to try playing chess. Over the week I must have played around 3-4 games against some chess app from F-Droid. I don’t try to learn any theory or tactics, right now the focus is on tracking which piece can attack which, and what I can allow my opponent to do when I make a certain move. Not much success so far, but I’ll keep playing and we’ll see what happens.
I’ve made a pretty difficult decision to switch my current Linux distro for another one. The reason for this change is that the new distro should provide a better development environment for many of my projects. I can get emotionally attached to things and programs, and this certainly is what happened here. This switch, while not really a huge deal, feels rather difficult. Perhaps I’ll go back at some point later, who knows.
